NEST: Launch Outcome

The launch was very successful in that all aspect of design was considered and reflected the magazine.
The design of the tablecloth communicated the uses for each table successfully, however as the tables were different sizes and heights, the design didn't work as seamlessly as designed. The section for the comic should also have been more considered as once everything was placed on the table, the design was almost entirely covered up and made that area look chaotic. It would also have worked better if the tablecloth covered the front and back as initially planned, however this was out of our hands to do.
The VR headsets fitted in well with the rest of the launch, showing they were apart of the launch whilst being functional for the user. However they were quite uncomfortable so the user wouldn't be able to wear them for a long period of time. This could have been improved with a piece of foam or soft fabric attached to the nose part, but since the situation that the goggles were used wasn't for a long period of time, this wasn't necessary and still function well for its purpose.
The VR gallery was effective in creating an immersive environment in which the user could look at the work featured in the magazine with more detail and depth, and to encourage the user to pick up copy of the magazine to read and look at more of the featured work.
Unfortunately the face filter wasn't approved in time for the launch and instead posters were put up around the venue with a QR code that takes the user to the test filter. This meant that the user could try the filter but couldn't post it anywhere, making the purpose of the filter (to promote the event) unsuccessful. The posters also didn't explain well enough what the QR code was for and as a QR code was used to take people to the VR, it was overlooked as the same code. To improve this the poster design could have had a better design which communicates clearly what the QR code would take you to. I would have planned the designing and uploading of the face filter better so that it was approved in time and therefore given time to create a poster that was more considered.
