Initial sketches

One initial idea for the brief was to create AR in which the user can hold their camera up to a place and a rollercoaster would appear. This is to present the simulation in reality, making them question how they differ from each other.
Another idea is to create an interactive experience in which a projection of the motions of a rollercoaster is displayed with things getting in the way, that when you use a computer would get in the way, that the viewer then has to try and get rid of. For example, if a window pops up on the screen, the viewer has to make a shadow over the window to get rid of it. This works well as it creates a sort of game, which is what the design is based off. It also creates a more immersive experience, making them part of it and using themselves to play the game.

Similar to the last idea this idea is a VR video that is the same concept as the projections, a rollercoaster that is in motion with things popping up that the viewer has to get rid of. Also in this idea are images of real life within the simulation, reminding the viewer the reality outside of the simulation. This is developed further into having audio that questions the viewer in how they are feeling throughout the experience and giving instructions. There could also be glitches through the video, which could also randomly show issues in the real world. This would reference the use of the computer and playing the game as the computer will often freeze of glitch during gameplay. I think this is the strongest idea as using virtual reality will fully immerse the viewer into the experience. This idea also presents the gameplay whilst causing the viewer to question the simulation vs reality aspect.
