Image Manipulation

Image manipulation

What do you want the reader to experience?
How do you remember the space?
How can you re-translate the idea behind the image?

Some processes to try:
Stretching
Overlaying
Magnifying
(Re-)photographing
Duplicating
Rearranging
Erasing
Redacting
Montaging
Distorting
Recreating
Borrowing
Folding
Fading
Intervening

Composition elements to consider:
Line
Colour
Shape
Space
Form
Texture
Value
Visual Tension
Output

Outcome for task: 6 manipulations, these could be 2 of each original, 6 of one etc. Print out your work to an appropriate size and stick it on the studio wall so we can create new relationships between the work. Your work should be 300dpi.

Erasing:
In this first image I erased parts of the image to represent the way that you as the player can build and delete the design of the land.
In this one I erased the other peep in the image to suggest the ease of the player deleting them and controlling them.

Fading:
Using a gradient I made the image look as if it was fading or becoming less visible at the bottom. This represents the way in which reality and the simulation fade away as you play or as you stop playing.

Montaging:
This montage uses a scene from the simulation game and an image from real life. This represents the way in which the simulation game copies reality, and showing the contrast/similarities.

Borrowing:
These images borrow real life imagery that is similar to the scene from the game. The image is placed smaller to simply show the viewer the differences between the simulation and reality.
