When preparing for the crit, I had a few questions prepared on the content of the book. These were:
If it should be from the perspective from the 'peeps' and being controlled?
If it should be from the perspective from the player and being in control?
Or both?
Or if it should be looking at the contrast between real life and the simulation?
Feedback suggested that it would be best to use all angles, but keeping it simple with more of an explanation for the reader, and/or simple imagery.
Showing the DVD book cover case, feedback was positive. There is plenty of reasoning behind the design and it looks professional. The only part that is thought to be unnecessary is the belly band, which has little reasoning and doesn't look professional. The content of peoples thoughts could be on the cover instead. Also, the back of the book cover with the book slotted into the clips could also be removed due to the amount of content that would need to be produced to fill the 3 books. Instead, the clips could hold the pages that will be 'deleted' (cut out) of the books.
The throw out was received positively due to the clear relation to the game, and giving the book a more interactive experience while keeping it professional looking.
