Designing my Portfolio

Layout:
For the portfolio I want to have a unique but simple design that shows my work well whilst creating an identity true to my style.

From a previous project I made this graphic which I would like to use as a logo for my work due to what it represents and its pretty yet simplistic style.

NEST Launch

VR gallery, VR headsets, tablecloth design and face filter for the launch event for The Class Issue of NEST magazine in collaboration with the editors; Louis Edwards and Ben Cobb.

NEST magazine is a student magazine at Leeds Arts University. This issue is based around the theme of Class, showcasing responces to this theme by the students. This issue is designed with the intention of communicating the contrast of the two classes using bold type and limited colour. Collage is used as a way of representing the work in the magazine whilst utilising DIY design motifs to respectfully communicate working class and the brutal divide between classes.

Utilising the design of the magazine; immersive, interactive elements are made in order to promote the magazine as well as create an event that celebrates the work. The designs show a clear relation to the magazine and other elements of the launch, whilst being appropriate for the format.

Better Future

Instagram, face filter and scarf design in collaboration with Becky Wakelam.

Better Future is a concept to raise awareness and celebrate migration. The design of the Better Future identity uses symbols in the colours blue and green, working as a universal language and representing the world. The scarf is to be used when migrating to another place and then passed onto someone else who is to migrate. It can be used in multiple ways due to its size and shape. Those who have the scarf send their story on where and why they are migrating to the instagram along with an image of themselves with the scarf. This promotes sharing, community, and brings to light the reasons behind why people migrate. A face filter on Instagram is to create a platform which anyone who wishes to share their stories about their experience in migrating can, in the hopes that migration becomes normalised and celebrated.
