Consumption

Consumer psychology: the study of why people buy things.
Consumer behaviour: the consumer's emotional response to purchasing.
Consumption: the process in which a person purchases goods or services for personal use.

Brands I buy into:
  1. Adidas because everything looks and is pretty good
  2. Adobe because needed
  3. Apple because needed
  4. Colgate because needed
  5. Pact coffee because needed and delicious and sustainable and easy
  6. M&S because lovely and comforting
  7. Subway because delicious
  8. One stop because needed
  9. Miffy because I love
  10. Sanrio because so cute

The needs of the consumer:

How this advert meets the needs of the consumer:
This advert  uses love/belonging and esteem because it is inviting the viewer to join in with the friendship group, suggesting they are good enough. They are all wearing the advertised shoes, suggesting when you wear them you are invited to be apart of something.

Social categorisation: categorising the world based on the self.
Social comparison: Comparison with ideals generated by consumer culture.
Self-disciplinary theory: a theory that suggests why we are unhappy with our self image.
