Pressision

Pressision is a printing and finishing company based in Leeds. They have worked with many recognisable names, such as Nike, ASDA George, Colours May Vary,  Nest, Rough Trade, Magnum, etc.

During the talk we were explained what they do and shown examples of the ambitious projects that have been achieved.

This showed many interesting and inspiring techniques that can be used in book design. For example this detailed holographic foiling.
 This book used a paper stock that appeared as bark with an emboss that smoothed the texture to reveal the type.

 This book has many tip-ins/ons that use different paper stocks. It also isn't bound, just simply folded. This works well for the book as the content is mostly made up of posters.


This book is perfectly cut to a brick size and shape, and is perfect bound, appearing like a brick, which relates to the contents. It also uses brick shavings, which are glued onto the spine. The man who ran the talk explained that although the shavings will fall off, this was the most effective way of including this adaptation. The paper stock used in this book is high gsm, helping form the shape and continuing this idea through-out the read.





 In Loving Memory Of Word by Craig Oldham uses coal shavings for the front cover, making a clear reference to the concept of the book. The book is about
