Summary

A theme park created on Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum.

PC/mac construction & management simulation game.

Platinum edition includes two expansion packs including ‘Soaked!’ (Waterpark) and ‘Wild!’ (Safari park).

Built in sandbox mode where you have unlimited time and money.

Park was built with the aim of giving the visitors a chance to experience the unusual aspects of life, with a focus on the extremities. 

This is what inspired the name ‘X’.

Rides in the park have been built to simulate flying, experience falling, unusual scenes of animals and found images, and height and water.

Visuals

Using the screenshot tool on the mac, images of the park are captured showing the different views of the park.

Textures

Many different textures are used throughout the game to simulate real life. These were also captured though screenshots.

Type

Type used in the game is limited, however some was found.

The Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 logo uses Impact.

Other type used in the game are unidentified.

One found logotype is used for the concert venue for the artist that performs.

The other found typeface is one made for signage in the theme park so it is a simplistic design that uses large pixels that appear as lights to form letters.

Sound

Sounds throughout the park are vital for its simulation of real life. Almost all aspects of the park use sound.

Rides make news depending on what it is.

The waterfall makes sound.

‘Peeps’ make a talking when the game user is close to a group.

All animals make noise as well as birds that occasionally fly over the park. 

The game has built in music that can be used for rides.

‘Peeps’

Peeps are the visitors to the park, who enter the park in groups with a variation of children, teenagers and adults. They are randomly designed in appearance.

You are able to move the peeps, view the peeps thoughts, see what they are carrying, what they have spent money on and how much they have, their health and emotional statistics, what they have done and what they are doing next, the rides they have been on and their favourite ride,  and other members of their group.

One rides you can see through the eyes of peeps, and using a cheat code you can view the entire park in their view.

Additional research

Instead of looking at the park from the gamer position, the ‘peepcam’ cheat code is used to experience the park from a Peeps POV.
