Type experiments for book cover

Although Helvetica is an effective typeface to use as the left side, further experiments using different typefaces were explored to see if they work better and add a new level of meaning to the design. The Velvetyne Type Foundry has many of unique typefaces that are not widely used. This could reflect the book being his own unique ideas and perspective on politics. This could have more of an impact than the overly used Helvetica typeface.
The first typeface tried is Millimetre-master, however this could appear too futuristic looking and doesn’t relate to the book. The second is Mono, however this typeface appears too playful for a serious book and is very small in comparison to Wingdings. Steps-Mono-Master is the third tried, which appears like a generic computer type. This works best as it works well with Wingdings. But it could send the wrong message to the browser as it makes the book appear as if it’s about something else, such as technology, rather than politics. VTF MisterPixel is another typeface that looks made for computers, causing the same issues. However, the thickness of this typefaces works well with Wingdings. The last typeface tried is BluuNext-Master which is a serif typeface. However, this looks too old and outdated, which doesn’t appear a contemporary design asked for in the brief.
